What We Are Grateful for This Year

By Angela Dorsey

Greetings to you from Dorsey Wealth Management!

At the start of the busy holiday season, we wanted to take this time to pause and reflect on what we are thankful for. It’s been another challenging year in many ways, and focusing only on those challenges could be easy. But instead of focusing on the negative, we want to cultivate a heart of gratitude by looking at all the positive things that have happened.

We encourage you to do the same, but we’ll start by sharing what we are grateful for this year.

Family

This season is a time when we are reminded of how much family means. It’s important to surround ourselves with people who know us, love us, and support us. A few people I am grateful to have in my life are my parents, who are getting older but are healthy. I’m grateful that my adult son and daughter are both doing well. I’m also grateful for my husband, sister, and nephew who make me laugh! I am grateful for my cat Jasmine, who usually lets me pick her up for a hug after a long day. No matter how busy we are or what life changes come our way, family and friends are vital to our well-being.

Travel

Many of us have had to suspend travel plans for the past couple of years due to COVID. This year saw a big surge in the domestic and international travel industry, as travel restrictions have been lifted. I was fortunate to have experienced a few vacations this year. I got to start the year off with a bonus day in Kauai because our flight home was canceled at the last minute. I also had a wonderful trip during the summer with my husband and two adult kids to Washington, D.C., and Baltimore for a week. I also had a fun and productive business trip to Nashville. Our family vacation to Las Vegas didn’t go so well (we all got sick and had to leave early)—but that is a story for another day!

My Hometown

Of course, I can’t leave out mentioning the beautiful city of Torrance, where I get to live and work. Living here where the beach, restaurants, movie theaters, and shopping are just a few minutes away is like being on vacation every day!

A Chance to Serve

Lastly, I am grateful for the chance to serve by continuing to work with such wonderful clients. It’s an honor and privilege to partner with you as a fee only financial advisor on your journey to pursuing your goals. The markets have been a challenge for everyone this year, and I take seriously my role in guiding my clients through it. Not many people can say they get to do their dream job every day, so we are incredibly grateful that we get to do just that.

Look Forward With Hope

We hope this holiday season leaves you refreshed and ready to look forward with hope.

Through whatever may come, we are here for you and your family. Reach out to us at (310) 370-7776 or angela@dorseywealth.com with your questions or concerns, or just to touch base before the end of the year. We look forward to investing in you and your family in the new year!
